• Brief History of the museum institution: Officially opened on February 8, 1964. Located near the center of the city. It occupies the ancestral home of the Family Darius, where Ruben lived to be 14 years of age. This house is a beautiful and elegant proof of our colonial architecture, restored and set to show the life and work of our great poet Universal. Museum consists of four rooms where personal items of Rubén Darío, his major works, original documents and personal belongings of the family Dario.
• Thematic Ruben Dario Museum Archives consists of four rooms. The first room consists of an exhibition of antique furniture, bedroom of Colonel Felix Ramirez Madregil and Dona Bernarda Ramirez Sarmiento, the bed I agonized and died the poet Rubén Darío, the Christ who gave him and Amado Nervo one of the masks that took him to die. The second room is for their own corner of the house, which retains its original design of the room for gatherings of the season and Colonel Doña Bernarda Madregil Ramirez, the couch gifted Ruben Dario by President Estrada Cabrera of Guatemala and that terminally ill Ruben traveled from Guatemala to Nicaragua, some caricatures of the poet made by famous artists, photographs of Rosa Sarmiento (mother of the poet), Rafaela Contreras, Rosario Murillo and Francisco Sanchez. In the third room which is located in the northern part of the house is installed with the Archive section showcases that shows the first editions of books of Reuben, the almost complete collection of the magazine "World Magazine", edited by Ruben in Paris, and original documents (records of the process by vague Girls albums Rubén time in which there are verses of it) and copies of many manuscripts that are preserved in the Archive Seminar Rubén Darío de Madrid, Library of Congress in Washington, Buenos Aires and elsewhere. Presented in this section File the Bible (in several volumes), which read as a child Ruben, an edition of Don Quixote of the time of his childhood, and many objects that belonged to the family Dario. Attached to this room is a confined area that presents the costume worn by Darius diplomat as ambassador of Nicaragua to the royal government of Spain, a glove, a silk scarf and sprat complementary suit. An oil painting of the poet with his diplomatic suit, conducted by Maestro Rodrigo paint Peñalba Nicaragua, and letters of Reuben in the exercise of diplomatic functions, a fountain pen and a picture which shows the poet with leading Spanish intellectuals . The fourth room, east of the house, is intended for library service, with three bookcases beautiful antique that belonged to the law school of the University of León. This library now has more than one thousand units dealing with different topics of modernism whose fundamental basis is formed by the donation of the private library of Darius biographer, Don Edelberto Torres, but another considerable amount relating to the Nicaraguan American literature.
